OT Thriller: Muenster Hornets win Holiday Classic title



The Muenster Hornets rallied from a 9-point deficit to defeat the Denison Yellowjackets 62-54 in the championship game of the NCTC Holiday Classic Saturday.

Muenster trailed throughout most of the game before taking a 3-point lead in the final 20 seconds. But Denison hit a 3-pointer with 4 seconds left to tie the game at 52-52 and force overtime.

It was all Muenster in the extra period as the Hornets outscored the Jackets 10-2 and won the Holiday Classic for the second year in a row.

Senior Danny Luttmer led Muenster with 24 points and was named the Tournament's Most Valuable Player. Bryson Culwell added 18 points, Major Eldridge had 13, and Garrett Hess and Cade Stevens each added 2.
